How Manchester United could line up against West Ham United

Ahead of Manchester United's home match against West Ham United on Saturday, Sports Mole looks at how the Red Devils could line up.

Manchester United have a chance to return to winning ways this weekend when they welcome West Ham United to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have won eight of their last 10 home Premier League meetings with West Ham, drawing the other two - only against Fulham (11 unbeaten), Leeds United and Arsenal (both 12) are they on a better run of form.

This fixture has come at the perfect time for United, who have lost four of their last five matches in all competitions, most recently suffering a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Ahead of their return to league action on Saturday, Sports Mole looks at how Man United could line up.

Solskjaer is unlikely to make too many changes to his side ahead of the return match against Barcelona on Tuesday, mainly because he has a lack of options to choose from, but also because this visit of West Ham has taken on added importance in the race for a top-four finish.

Central midfielders Matic and Herrera remain doubtful, while defenders Darmian, Valencia and Bailly are also expected to miss out.

To make matters worse for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, full-backs Young and Shaw are ruled out through suspension, so Marcos Rojo is likely to come in for just his second Premier League start of the season, on the opposite flank to the versatile Diogo Dalot.

Should Matic and Herrera fail to recover in time, Solskjaer may be forced to go with the same midfield trio - Paul Pogba, Fred and Scott McTominay - that started against Barcelona.

Further forward there are more options to choose from, though, as Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku are all over their recent injury issues, while Alexis appears to be ready for a return to action.

Rashford could do with a rest after only just recovering from a knock, which in turn would allow Solskjaer to get Lingard and Martial back in the starting lineup.
