Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini 'in line for starting spot in derby clash'

Marouane Fellaini could reportedly start for Manchester United in this weekend's derby against Manchester City, despite early concerns over a back injury.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini could be in Jose Mourinho's starting XI for Saturday's derby against Manchester City after seemingly overcoming a back injury.

The 28-year-old's manager suggested that Fellaini could be on the treatment table for a lengthy spell after describing his injury as "bad" following United's 1-0 win over Hull City on August 27.

However, Fellaini was able to come through 84 minutes of Belgium's 3-0 win over Cyprus on Tuesday evening.

With the derby at Old Trafford just three days away, there is every likelihood that Fellaini will feature in the showdown, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Questions were raised over Fellaini's long-term future at United during the summer transfer window, but he has played in every Premier League game so far this season.
