Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho expects Romelu Lukaku to miss at least two games with the head injury he sustained against Southampton.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to miss at least two games with the head injury he sustained during this evening's goalless draw against Southampton.

Lukaku lasted just 14 minutes before a nasty clash of heads saw him undergo lengthy treatment on the pitch, forcing him to be stretchered off while taking oxygen.

United have just two days before they are back in action against Everton, but Mourinho expects Lukaku to miss the match against his former club, in addition to next Friday's FA Cup tie with Derby County.

"That's football. He was just unlucky. I think the Dutch central defender goes with him for the ball and it's unlucky for Romelu and unlucky for Hoedt. It was nothing aggressive and, hopefully, nothing important. But the first consequence of is he didn't play for the rest of the game," Mourinho told MUTV.

"I know that normally bad, bad news arrives immediately. Bad news didn't arrive. I think that there's a problem for the next two matches. For sure."

Mourinho also revealed that he is likely to be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a month due to another injury setback.
