Steve Round: 'We were lucky to be given penalty'

Steve Round admits that he was surprised to see Manchester United awarded a penalty in their victory over Norwich City on Tuesday.

Manchester United assistant manager Steve Round has admitted that they were lucky to be awarded a penalty in their Capital One Cup victory over Norwich City on Tuesday night.

Norwich were angered by referee Kevin Friend's decision to point to the spot when Leory Fer challenged Adnan Januzaj as it allowed Javier Hernandez to open the scoring in the 4-0 win.

Round told Sky Sports News: "I didn't look like a penalty to me, it looked like he slipped over, and it was very harsh on Norwich.

"In the end I suppose it didn't really matter because the other goals made it comprehensive."

The victory saw United progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
