Good afternoon! Louis van Gaal will be talking to the media in around 15 minutes as his side prepares to face Hull City in the Premier League this weekend.

Manchester United are heading towards the festive fixture rush in strong form. They've lost just one of their last seven matches in the league. Before Christmas though, they've got a busy schedule, with games against Stoke, Southampton, Liverpool and Aston Villa coming up.

Van Gaal should be providing an update on his squad's fitness this lunchtime. The team have been missing Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw and Phil Jones among others in recent weeks.

It looks like Ander Herrera is already looking forward to the match:

Don't forget, we'll have live coverage from this match and every other Premier League fixture from an hour before kickoff, as well as plenty of post-match reaction, so make sure you're with us tomorrow to find out if Man Utd can win.

Right then, Van Gaal is ready to go, so let's see what he has to say...

Van Gaal starts by confirming that Luke Shaw will miss the next couple of weeks with an ankle ligament injury.

On his side's recent form, the manager says: "We are still fourth so I am happy, but we have to be at least fourth at the end of the season, not now. We have to improve our playing style and beat opponents more easily."

Daley Blind is also recovering from injury at the moment. Van Gaal reveals that the midfielder has been taking a break: "I gave him a holiday. In the first week of recovery he needs more rest than exercise and he didn't have much holiday in the summer because at the World Cup."

Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao could both return from injury tomorrow, but the manager insists: "Every player in my selection has to fight for his position and I shall always pick the best of the players. It has to be a suitable mix."

Van Gaal is asked about opposition manager and ex United defender Steve Bruce. He replies: "I have seen him playing at Manchester United. He was very firm and a leader, and most leaders become managers."

Back to Daley's recovery, Van Gaal adds: "He has to exercise, practise every day as an injured player has to train more than the fit players."

Well, not the chattiest from Van Gaal today as he heads back to training. Join us again tomorrow for our live commentary. Until then, thanks for joining me this afternoon, goodbye
