Bayern Munich's honorary president Franz Beckenbauer has claimed that manager Pep Guardiola may be tempted to take over at Manchester United.
Guardiola has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League as his contract at the Allianz Arena expires at the end of the season.
Manchester City have been reported as a potential suitor, but Beckenbauer has hinted that United could want the Spaniard.
"Pep [Guardiola] is interesting for every top club in the world," Beckenbauer told Merkur newspaper. "That's just normal. He can pick his club and, in terms of popularity, Manchester United might be the number one worldwide."
Guardiola has been working with Bayern since 2013.
