Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers is no longer being considered by Manchester United as their next manager, according to a report.

Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers is reportedly no longer being considered by Manchester United as Ralf Rangnick's successor at Old Trafford.

Rangnick will remain in charge of the Red Devils for the remainder of the season before stepping aside to take on a two-year consultancy role with the 20-time English champions.

Rodgers was strongly linked with the position in the aftermath of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure, with the 49-year-old impressing during his time at the King Power Stadium.

The Northern Irishman won two trophies last year - the FA Cup and Community Shield - but a disappointing 2021-22 Premier League campaign has left the Foxes down in 11th spot in the table, 19 points off the top four.

According to ESPN, Leicester's struggles this season, which also saw them fail to qualify for the knockout round of the Europa League, have ended Rodgers's chances of being approached by Man United.

The report claims that Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino, Ajax's Erik ten Hag and Spain's Luis Enrique are the main candidates for the role at this moment in time.

Leicester are allegedly still backing Rodgers amid suggestions that the head coach is under pressure at the King Power Stadium due to the team's inconsistent results.
