Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer feels that his side gave too much respect to Manchester United in their defeat at Old Trafford.

Swansea City winger Nathan Dyer feels that he and his teammates have lessons to learn from their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Rio Ferdinand scored a late winner for the Red Devils after Michu had cancelled out Javier Hernandez's first-half strike.

Dyer told the club's official website: "Coming here knowing that they had already won the league, together with it being Sir Alex's last home game, we knew it was going to be a challenge.

"We gave them too much respect in the first half, but we came out fighting in the second.

"We got the equaliser and I thought we could go on and get a second, but the set plays in the end have cost us today. We had our chances, but it wasn't meant to be and we've got to learn from that."

Swansea are ninth in the Premier League following the defeat at Old Trafford.
