Marouane Fellaini completes £27m Manchester United switch

Manchester United sign Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini from Everton for £27m.

Manchester United have signed Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini for £27.5m.

The Red Devils have been chasing a central midfielder throughout the summer, but failed in attempts to recruit Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas and Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera.

Former Toffees manager David Moyes, now in charge of United, has always maintained an interest in Fellaini, though, and also had several offers rebuffed for the Belgian international.

However, the Premier League champions returned with a further bid for the 25-year-old on transfer deadline day and managed to get a deal done before the window closed at 11pm.

Fellaini joined Everton from Standard Liege for a fee of £15m in 2008.
