Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has revealed that he expects new signing Shinji Kagawa to start on Saturday.

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has revealed that he expects new signing Shinji Kagawa to start in United's friendly with Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

The Japanese star played only a few minutes in last night's 1-0 win over Amazulu FC, replacing Javier Hernandez after waiting quite some time for the ball to go out of play so he could come on.

Ferguson has said that it wasn't ideal preparation for Kagawa and has revealed that he could well make the starting XI on Saturday.

"I never thought the boy was going to come on. He must have been standing on the touchline for 10 minutes.

"It's amazing when there are so many stoppages in the second half, but it never seemed to go out when we wanted it to.

"He only came on because of Hernandez having cramp. I think he'll probably start on Saturday."

Kagawa was confirmed as a Red Devils player last month.
