Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says that he would have no problems with selecting Patrice Evra for the FA Cup clash with Liverpool.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that he would have no problems with picking Patrice Evra for the FA Cup clash with Liverpool later this month.

Evra's relations with the Merseyside club have been damaged in the fallout from his race row with Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan is currently serving an eight-match ban after being found guilty of racially abusing the Frenchman in the league tie between the sides in October.

Ferguson, however, has admitted that Evra has the experience to cope with the occasion.

"I haven't decided on that but it wouldn't be a problem for me. He's done okay since the controversy," Ferguson told the Daily Mail.

"I think the players look up to him. He's a very popular player with a good personality and you have to have a good personality to be a captain of a club like ours. He's very friendly, has humour and he's a determined lad."

Evra, 30, joined United from Monaco in 2006.
