England boss Roy Hodgson predicts a big future for Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha.

England manager Roy Hodgson has claimed that Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha is set for "something big" in his career.

Zaha signed for United in January before being loaned back to Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season.

Hodgson has admitted that he likes the 20-year-old and believes that his move to Old Trafford will have given him a huge confidence boost.

Hodgson, who gave Zaha his England debut in November, said: "I like Wilfried Zaha, I think he is a good player. I went to Palace not so long back to have a look at him and of course he has a massive move to Manchester United.

"It seems to me he is on the threshold of something big. He will be given the opportunity. When a club like Manchester United is prepared to pay a lot of money for a player because they will help them to win things it is a tremendous boost to both confidence and ego.

"As coaches we can't do any more. After you have lit the touchpaper, all we can do is retire and hope they buzz."

Zaha will join up with the United squad this summer ahead of next season.
