Juan Mata hails "important win"

Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata reflects positively on his side's 2-1 win over Everton.

Juan Mata has expressed the significance of Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Everton at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon.

The three points moved the Red Devils into fourth position and it was also the first time that the team has won back-to-back Premier League matches under Louis van Gaal's management.

"What an important win this weekend against Everton, and for many reasons," the Spanish playmaker wrote on his blog.

"It is one more consecutive victory at Old Trafford, it means three points to climb to the top four of the table and winning is the best possible way to face an international break. It was a key game but we know there is still a long way ahead."

Next up for United is a trip to West Bromwich Albion on Monday, October 20.
