Dirk Kuyt has urged Liverpool target Memphis Depay to reject a move to Manchester United and instead choose his former club.
Both clubs have confirmed their interest in the PSV Eindhoven star while Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur are also reported to have looked at the Dutchman.
"I look through red glasses, because I've played six years for Liverpool," Kuyt told De Telegraaf. "Only when Memphis does that, he will realize how big Liverpool are.
"Of course it would be an advantage at Manchester United because he knows the manager. On the other hand it is important at his age that he plays every week. That's the only way he can develop."
Depay's agent sparked a recent debate over the winger's future when he posted a picture of United's training complex.
