Nigel Pearson: 'We've been trying to forget 5-3 win over Manchester United'

Nigel Pearson admits that he and Leicester City have been trying to forget September's 5-3 win over Manchester United ahead of the second meeting between the two sides.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has admitted that he has been trying to encourage his players to forget about the famous 5-3 victory over Manchester United.

The Foxes have struggled since the win in September, and they head into the second meeting between the two sides at the bottom of the table, but Pearson insists that there has been no talk about the team's performance at the King Power Stadium in the reverse fixture.

"We've been trying to forget about it ever since," the Leicester boss told reporters. "It was great but until we beat Hull that was the last time we won.

"I think the best thing for us to do is concentrate on what we are doing at the moment. I don't know if it has affected anything. It obviously has as the question has been asked.

"I don't spend much time looking at those angles. The game at our place was a very good result for us, we had a very good second half and scored at vital times."

Leicester have won just two Premier League games since their victory over United.
