Nigel Pearson: 'Leicester City needed courage to beat Tottenham Hotspur'

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson claims that his players needed to show "a lot of courage" to come from behind and dump Tottenham out of the FA Cup.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has claimed that his team showed "a lot of courage" to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.

The Foxes sealed their place in the last 16 of the competition on Saturday as two late goals earned them a dramatic 2-1 victory at White Hart Lane.

Andros Townsend put the hosts in front with a first-half penalty, but Leonardo Ulloa and Jeffrey Schlupp scored inside the final seven minutes to turn the game around.

"We kept going and we needed to," Pearson told BBC Sport. "Tottenham are a squad full of athletes. They are also very good technically and as a unit physically they are pretty impressive, so for us it was a game in which we had to compete on lots of different levels.

"In the first half when they had lots of possession we had to show a lot of courage to stick in there."

Leicester continue their Premier League campaign next Saturday when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
