Report: Mauricio Pochettino set up meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino reportedly instigated Tuesday's meeting with former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino reportedly organised a meeting with former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson earlier this week.

Pochettino and assistant Jesus Perez were pictured leaving a London restaurant with Ferguson on Tuesday, and it is said to be the former who instigated the get-together.

According to PA, Pochettino has been open with Spurs about it since deciding to chat with Ferguson, who he has spoken to on previous occasions at League Managers Association events.

Pochettino was regularly linked with the Man United job throughout this season having turned Spurs into a title challenger, but he revealed last month that he has verbally agreed a new five-year deal at White Hart Lane.

When he opened up about his decision to stay in North London he cited Ferguson's legacy at Old Trafford as something that he wanted to achieve with Spurs.
