Burnley manager Sean Dyche insists that his side "matched" Manchester United, but concedes that Anthony Martial's winner was "a moment of quality".

Sean Dyche has admitted that his Burnley side were undone by a "moment of quality" from Anthony Martial in their narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester United.

The Clarets more than held their own against their second-placed opponents, restricting the visitors to just a couple of on-target attempts at Turf Moor.

Martial won the match with a precise rocket strike past Nick Pope nine minutes into the second half after being spotted by Romelu Lukaku, but Dyche believes that his side deserved to take something from the game.

"I thought we at least matched them, and at times went beyond them," he told reporters at full time. "The defining moment is a moment of quality you have to say. You've got to look beyond the results sometimes."

Burnley have lost three successive Premier League games for the first time since April 2010.
