Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals that Paul Pogba is set to undergo an ankle operation that will keep him on the sidelines for "three or four weeks".

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Paul Pogba is set to undergo an ankle operation that will keep him on the sidelines for "three or four weeks".

The France international made his return from injury against Watford last month before featuring against Newcastle United on Boxing Day.

Pogba was not included for the clash against Burnley on Saturday night, though, and also missed out against Arsenal on New Year's Day despite suggestions that he would start at the Emirates Stadium.

Solskjaer has said that the midfielder, who continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, will now undergo an operation "as soon as possible".

"We have had scans, it is nothing major. It is something that has to be sorted and dealt with within a timeframe. He has been advised to do it as soon as possible, so he will be out for three or four weeks," Solskjaer told reporters.

Pogba has contributed two assists in eight appearances for the Red Devils this season.
