Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update on plans for Amad Diallo

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to decide whether Amad Diallo will immediately join the first-team squad upon his arrival.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that he has not yet decided whether Amad Diallo will immediately join the first-team squad upon his arrival.

The Red Devils announced on transfer deadline day in October that they had agreed a move for the 18-year-old, but the switch depended on the youngster receiving a work permit.

Diallo was born in the Ivory Coast before moving to Italy at a young age, and it is understood that the 20-time English champions are still working on completing a move ahead of the January transfer window.

Solskjaer is yet to make a decision on the teenager's initial involvement but has suggested that there will be an opportunity for him to immediately become a part of the first-team picture.

"With Amad, hopefully we can get him in and we'll see how the squad looks and how he looks and how he settles as soon as possible," the Manchester Evening News quotes Solskjaer as saying.

"They're both talented players (Facundo Pellistri and Diallo) that we believe will have a long career here. It's important we find the right time."

Diallo, who largely operates as a right-sided attacker, has made two first-team appearances for Atalanta during the 2020-21 campaign.
