Louis van Gaal "satisfied" with first half of season

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reveals that he is "satisfied" with his side's first half of the 2014-15 season.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has predicted a prosperous second half of the season for the former Premier League champions.

United are unbeaten in their last nine games in the league, with that run of form moving the club onto 36 points for the season.

Van Gaal's side struggled in the early part of the campaign, but the Dutchman is "satisfied" with their points total at the midway point.

"We can be satisfied about the points now, 36 points, in our goal and we are improving every week," Van Gaal told reporters at a press conference.

"We can look forward to 2015 with open eyes. We shall continue with our proves and showing attractive matches with a fantastic result at the end of the season with a good location on the table."

United return to league action away to Stoke City on New Year's Day.
