Ashley Young desperate to end poor run in Manchester derby

Ashley Young admits that Manchester United are desperate to end their recent poor run against Manchester City when the two rivals meet on Sunday.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has admitted that he is desperate to help his side end their poor run against Manchester City when the two sides meet on Sunday.

City have managed to win the last four derbies, but with United heading into the match on the back of five successive victories, Young is keen to use the momentum to their advantage.

"That's something you want to put right," the 29-year-old told reporters. "It will be another massive game.

"We know it will be tough but as long as we can play the way we have shown, especially in the last few games, and add to that, it's going to be a great game and hopefully we will get the three points.

"We want to keep the momentum going and the positive play."

Third-placed United currently sit one point ahead of their rivals in the Premier League table.
