Liverpool finally got their hands on the Premier League trophy after 30 years of waiting on Wednesday night as the penultimate gameweek of Premier League action ended with an eight-goal thriller at Anfield.
There were plenty of fireworks on the field as Liverpool beat Chelsea 5-3, but the main event came afterwards as Jordan Henderson lifted the trophy aloft in a unique title celebration.
The other side of that result was a damaging defeat for Chelsea's top-four hopes, though, leaving them with work still to do on the final day as one point separates three teams in the battle for Champions League qualification.
Leicester City and Manchester United also slipped up, although the latter's draw with West Ham United was still enough to lift them up to third and leave them needing to simply avoid defeat when they visit the Foxes on the final day.
At the bottom, Aston Villa picked up a potentially priceless victory over Arsenal to climb out of the bottom three on goal difference, being replaced by managerless Watford after they were heavily beaten at home by Manchester City.
Bournemouth were also beaten again to leave them needing a win and for other results to go their way on the final day in order to survive.

There was plenty of competition for the gloves in this week's XI, and two of those competitors came from the same game. Aaron Ramsdale did everything he could despite Bournemouth losing to Southampton - including saving a penalty - but at the other end Alex McCarthy was in similarly stubborn form to keep the Cherries at bay.
However, Tottenham Hotspur's Hugo Lloris gets the nod for us having made six saves - the same amount as Ramsdale - but also ended up with a clean sheet and on the winning side.
Whereas in recent weeks most of the outstanding individual displays have come in forward positions, this week there were plenty of impressive performances in defence, and especially at full-back.
On the right, both Kyle Walker-Peters and Matt Doherty deserve mentions, but Trent Alexander-Arnold pipped them at the last with a man-of-the-match display against Chelsea. He may have been part of a defence which shipped three goals, but it is impossible to look past his stunning free kick and inch-perfect assist - a record 13th of the season.
Alexander-Arnold's teammate Andrew Robertson was one of the names in contention on the left, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers goalscorer Jonny, but Man City's Joao Cancelo gets the nod this week having produced a fine display in the win over Watford.
Aymeric Laporte was challenging for a centre-back spot having coupled his clean sheet with a goal, but we have gone for Everton's Michael Keane and Southampton's Jannik Vestergaard, who between them won a whopping 24 aerial duels this week.
Man City's four-goal showing is rewarded with four players in this XI, and two of them come in midfield with Rodri partnering Kevin De Bruyne, who closed in on the all-time single-season assist record in the Premier League with another one against Watford.
Raheem Sterling was arguably the star of that particular show courtesy of his brace as he continued a remarkable scoring record against the Hornets which has seen him net nine times in his last five meetings with them.
Sterling is forced over onto the right wing as a result of Christian Pulisic's impressive cameo off the bench for Chelsea at Anfield, making the most of his half an hour or so on the pitch to set up one goal and score a stunning solo effort of his own.
Adama Traore, Jack Grealish, Trezeguet and Mason Greenwood are all worthy of mentions, but the final spot in the trio behind the striker goes to Lucas Moura, who set up both of Harry Kane's goals against Leicester.
There was still plenty of work for Kane to do with both of them, though, and his devastating finishing made him the clear choice to lead the line in this week's XI.
