FIFA have been alerted to alleged racist chanting by England fans towards Rio Ferdinand and his brother Anton during the Three Lions match against San Marino.

FIFA are expected to launch a probe into alleged racist chanting by England fans towards Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and his brother Anton.

Anti-racism organisation Football Against Racism in Europe are said to have made a complaint to the world governing body following the Three Lions' 8-0 win over San Marino on Friday, according to Sky Sports News.

These claims have come to light after the United centre-back rejected manager Roy Hodgson's offer to return to the England squad for the nation's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro.

While Ferdinand claimed that he was unable to join up with England due to a strict training regime, the 34-year-old instead opted to act as a pundit for the Three Lions' win over San Marino in Doha for TV channel Al Jazeera.

Ferdinand's brother Anton was at the centre of a high-profile racism case last season when John Terry was alleged to have racially abused the Queens Park Rangers player during a match in October.
