England striker Wayne Rooney has conceded that Montenegro taught the Three Lions a lesson during their World Cup qualifier.
Roy Hodgson's side led on Tuesday evening courtesy of a header from the Manchester United frontman until a strike from Dejan Damjanovich with 13 minutes left to play secured a 1-1 draw on Montenegro.
"In the second half they came at us and we didn't keep the ball well enough at times," the Daily Star quotes Rooney as saying. "It was a lesson for us. We need to learn how to see out these games better."
The Three Lions remain two points adrift of Group H leaders Montenegro.
