Paul Pogba reveals Sir Alex Ferguson warning

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba reveals that former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson warned him of the problems with racism in Italy prior to his move.

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson warned him against moving to Italy in 2012.

The France international signed a four-year deal with the Turin side after leaving Old Trafford due to the lack of first-team opportunities.

The youngster revealed that, before his move, Ferguson warned him of the problems with racism in Serie A.

However, it was not enough to talk him out of a move, with the midfielder bringing up the recent cases of racism in the Premier League as evidence of it happening in every country.

"I am very grateful to Ferguson. He believed in me, even though I did not play a lot," Pogba told La Repubblica.

"He told me not to go to Italy. He warned me against racism and thought I wouldn't feel right there."

"As for racism, no country is immune against it. There's racism in England as well. Just look at what happened with John Terry and Luis Suarez."

Pogba has made 24 appearances for Juve this season, scoring six goals in the process.
