Sports Mole brings you the reaction on Twitter to Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

One of biggest stories in recent footballing history was announced this morning by Manchester United, who confirmed that their manager Sir Alex Ferguson is to retire at the end of the season.

After 27 years of service, the Scot has decided that the "time is right" for him to step down.

As you would expect, footballers past and present have been paying tribute to the 71-year-old. Here is what some of them have been saying on the social networking site Twitter.
