Barcelona are reportedly plotting to sign Manchester United's Donny van de Beek on loan in January.
The 24-year-old continues to be frozen out of the team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and supposedly wants to end his Old Trafford stint in 2022.
Van de Beek has reportedly switched agents in a bid to force a move elsewhere, with Real Madrid touted as a possible destination for the out-of-favour midfielder.
However, Sport claims that Barcelona are also aiming to take advantage of Van de Beek's situation by swooping for the Dutchman over the winter transfer window.
The report adds that the deal would include an option or obligation to buy in the future, and Barca are hopeful that Van de Beek's arrival would add a much-needed goalscoring touch from midfield.
The ex-Ajax man has only played six minutes of Premier League football this season and is not due to become a free agent until 2025.
