Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel has reportedly rejected an approach from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Lilywhites are in great need of attacking reinforcements, with the likes of Dominic Solanke and Timo Werner currently on the sidelines in North London.
Spurs suffered another sobering afternoon in the top flight last weekend, when Leicester City arrived in the capital and claimed all three points.
It looked as if Tottenham were heading towards a much-needed victory when Richarlison opened the scoring in the first half, although goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannous turned the contest on its head.
Despite a 3-0 success over Elfsborg in the Europa League on Thursday night, the mood in North London remains grim, with Spurs sitting 15th in the Premier League rankings.

Bayern Munich's Tel rejects Tottenham?
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham's campaign is about to get worse as the winter transfer window reaches its conclusion.
The report claims that Bayern Munich winger Tel has rejected the advances of Spurs, who were pushing hard for the signature of the player.
It is understood that Tottenham had agreed a £50m deal with the Bavarians for the sale of the 19-year-old, meaning that the North London club led the race for the Frenchman.
However, Tel has supposedly snubbed a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following face-to-face talks with the Premier League giants.
It is expected that the teenager will depart from the Allianz Arena before the February 3 deadline, with Manchester United said to be targeting the talent.

Another blow for sorry Spurs
Losing each of their last three Premier League matches, Tottenham are in danger of being dragged into an unthinkable relegation battle in the Premier League.
As a result, it is hardly a surprise that Bayern's Tel is not particularly keen on a move to North London, where he could be playing Championship football next term.
Five points ahead of Spurs in the standings, Man United are now emerging as serious contenders to sign the 19-year-old before the end of winter trading.
