Chelsea to turn to Robert Lewandowski if Wayne Rooney bid fails?

Chelsea will reportedly turn their attention to Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowksi if their bid for Wayne Rooney fails.

Chelsea will reportedly turn their attention to Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski if their attempt to sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United fails.

The Blues have had two bids rejected for the England international this summer and are said to be weighing up a third and final offer for the 27-year-old forward.

However, should the bid prove unsuccessful, then Chelsea will look to bring Dortmund's Lewandowski to Stamford Bridge, according to the Sunday People.

The Blues are ready to offer £40m for the Polish striker, which could see BVB accept, after the Bundesliga side previously stated that the forward would not be sold this summer.

Lewandowski is in the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
