Borussia Dortmund reportedly tell Jadon Sancho that he is free to leave the club amid persistent links with Manchester United.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly told Jadon Sancho that he is free to leave the club this summer.

The Manchester United-linked attacker remained at the Westfalenstadion last year following a protracted transfer saga, as the Red Devils were ultimately not willing to meet Dortmund's £109m asking price.

The Black and Yellow have sealed qualification for next season's Champions League, but the futures of some of their star players remain shrouded in uncertainty.

According to German outlet Bild, Dortmund have given Sancho the green light to advance his career elsewhere should he wish, as the Bundesliga side are desperate to raise funds amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The report adds that Dortmund have already identified Lille winger Jonathan Ikone as an ideal replacement, but United would have to fend off interest from Chelsea in order to land Sancho.

The 21-year-old bagged 16 goals and 21 assists across all competitions during a stellar 2020-21 campaign, and his Dortmund deal is set to expire in two years' time.
