Everton are reportedly weighing up the possibility of launching a bid for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

The Toffees have enjoyed a strong start to the 2020-21 campaign, winning all four of their matches in all competitions.

However, speculation persists regarding the long-term future of Jordan Pickford, who came under fresh scrutiny for his performance against Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup this week.

According to The Mirror, Carlo Ancelotti is contemplating whether to make a bid for Romero in the coming days.

While the Argentina international has impressed in his back-up role at Old Trafford, the 33-year-old is now only regarded as third choice.

United may be prepared to cash in on the veteran at a time when they are struggling to offload other fringe members of their squad.
