Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly targets a striker with pace as he looks to overhaul his attacking options for next season.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly told his global scouting network to identify a striker with pace.

The veteran boss is believed to be keen on altering the way his side attack, highlighted by his willingness to allow Dimitar Berbatov leave during the summer.

He has turned his attentions to signing a goalscorer with pace to accompany Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Berbatov's fellow centre-forward, Michael Owen, may also been shown the Old Trafford exit door as Ferguson looks to overhaul his attacking options.
