Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong caused fans to speculate about a possible move to Manchester United after he 'liked' an Instagram post from United's Instagram account.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has added to speculation over a possible move to Manchester United by liking an Instagram post from the club.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, with Erik ten Hag keen to reunite with the player that he once managed at Ajax.

Despite a report indicating that a "broad agreement" had been reached, De Jong has expressed a desire to remain at Camp Nou, while Barcelona president Joan Laporta has stated that the club have "no intention of selling" the Netherlands international.

However, De Jong added to the rumours of a move to Old Trafford after liking a post from Manchester United's Instagram account.

While some fans took the 'like' as a suggestion that a transfer was close, others highlighted the fact that the post was celebrating the birthday of former United and Netherlands striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

De Jong, who has four years left on his contract, has scored 12 goals in 137 appearances for Barcelona.
