Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij has insisted that he is not on the verge of joining Manchester United, despite speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League club.
The 23-year-old, who was a part of Louis van Gaal's Netherlands squad at the World Cup last year, was rumoured to be the subject of an £18m offer from the Red Devils.
However, De Vrij has now spoken out to rubbish the claims.
"I do not know anything about Manchester United's interest in me, but I'm used to the media linking me with other teams. Meanwhile, I'm very happy at Lazio, everything's going well and I'm just focusing on this," he told Fox Sports.
The centre-back, who has 25 caps for his country, only joined the Italian club from Feyenoord last summer.
