Liverpool are reportedly 'very likely' to get a deal over the line for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara in the coming weeks.

Liverpool have reportedly made progress in their efforts to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

With less than a year remaining on Thiago's contract, club officials have acknowledged that the Spaniard is keen to leave the Allianz Arena.

However, it has been reiterated that the German champions have no interest in parting ways with the 29-year-old for anything less than their valuation.

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool remain as the clear favourites to secure a deal for a fee in the region of £27m.

The former Barcelona man would effectively act as a replacement for Adam Lallana, who has left Anfield for Brighton & Hove Albion.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with an approach for Thiago.
