Manchester United have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain's Mauro Icardi as a potential replacement for Edinson Cavani during the January transfer window.
Cavani is believed to be keen to leave the Red Devils at the start of 2022, with Barcelona emerging as the leading candidates to sign the Uruguay international, who is out of contract at Old Trafford next June.
According to Calciomercato, Man United are already preparing for the striker's departure and view Icardi as the ideal player to replace the 34-year-old at the club.
The report claims that Juventus are desperate to land Icardi in January, but the Old Lady face the possibility of missing out on his signature to Ralf Rangnick's side.
The 28-year-old - also recently linked with Chelsea and Arsenal - has netted five times in 20 appearances for PSG during the 2021-22 campaign.
Icardi, who has a contract with Mauricio Pochettino's team until June 2024, has scored 38 times and registered 10 assists in 82 appearances for Les Parisiens since his arrival.
