Manchester United emerge as potential suitors for Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly had scouts in attendance for Blackburn Rovers matches this season, with the Red Devils watching Ben Brereton Diaz.

The 23-year-old has again been in impressive form for Rovers during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering one assist in 22 appearances in all competitions.

In the Championship, the forward has managed nine goals in 20 appearances, with the club sitting second in the table behind Burnley, boasting 36 points from their 20 matches.

Meanwhile, he scored against West Ham United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening, helping the Blue and Whites to reach the fourth round of the competition.

Diaz's contract at Ewood Park is due to expire next June, though, and he is widely expected to leave the club either in January for a fee, or on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

According to 90min, Man United have been watching the attacker in action this season, with the Red Devils considering moving for him on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also allegedly been watching him.

There is also said to be European interest, with Sevilla, Ajax and Atalanta BC among the teams believed to be keeping a close eye on the developments.

The report claims that an offer in excess of £10m is likely to be enough to convince Rovers to sell Diaz in January, with the club reluctant to lose him on a free transfer.

Diaz joined Blackburn from Nottingham Forest in 2019, and he has scored 41 goals and registered 13 assists in 149 appearances for the club in all competitions.

"I've just got to concentrate on playing for Rovers week in, week out, and putting results in and scoring goals for the club," Diaz recently told talkSPORT when questioned on his future. "At the minute, I'm here and I'll do everything when I've got the shirt on and work hard.

"Hopefully, yeah. I'll be there until the end of the season. We're going to the playoffs and we're trying to get promoted and that's what we're trying to do.

"We're all bought into that and the players are working hard everyday and this is what we want as a club, for the supporters to get back to the top. We're going to put good work in until Christmas, have a little break and we go again."

As it stands, the Chile international would be free to hold talks with foreign clubs at the start of 2023 over a potential pre-contract.
