Manchester United 'step up Goncalo Guedes pursuit'

A report claims that Manchester United are pressing ahead with a move for Benfica teenager Goncalo Guedes, despite a reported asking price of £52m.

Manchester United have reportedly had scouts closely watching Benfica teenager Goncalo Guedes over the last few weeks.

The 19-year-old, who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, has been strongly linked with a move to Man United since the start of September.

Last month, it was claimed that Benfica had placed an asking price of £52m on the head of the in-demand teenager, who has already earned two caps for the Portuguese senior team.

According to A Bola, that asking price has not deterred Man United, and head coach Jose Mourinho has sent scouts to watch the winger in action for Benfica in their last couple of matches.

Guedes has scored twice in six appearances for his Portuguese club this season.
