Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester United.
Since the summer, United have been linked with a wide range of players who can play in the middle of the park - a search which may intensify in January due to more potential exits.
However, it appears that the Premier League giants have identified a potential replacement for either Nemanja Matic or Paul Pogba, with Sky Sports News suggesting that there is interest in Fernandes.
While the 20-year-old is highly regarded on the European scene, he has recently fallen out of favour at Benfica, increasing the chances of an exit in January.
The report claims that representatives of the Portugal international have been attempting to convince any interested team to part with £34m in 2020.
Since breaking into the first team at Benfica, Fernandes has made 42 appearances in all competitions.
