Manchester United have reportedly reignited their interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The 26-year-old was linked with a switch to Old Trafford all throughout the summer, but a move failed to materialise and Saul remained at the Wanda Metropolitano.
However, the Spain international is yet to register a goal or assist in the current campaign and was restricted to a 30-minute run-out as a substitute in the recent derby defeat to Real Madrid.
With speculation mounting over Paul Pogba's future, Todofichajes claims that United have rekindled their interest in Saul, but agreeing a fee with Atletico may prove problematic.
The report claims that the Red Devils will go as high as €70m (£63m) for the midfielder, but Saul has a €150m (£135.1m) release clause in his Atletico contract, and Diego Simeone's side have all the power in negotiations, with Saul contracted to the La Liga giants until 2026.
The Spaniard has struck 41 times and set up 18 more goals for Atletico in all competitions, but Saul's game time in the 2020-21 campaign has been hampered by a muscle injury.
