Manchester United reportedly had scouts in attendance for Thursday's Europa League contest between Porto and Lazio in Portugal.
The home side recorded a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their knockout round playoff affair, with Toni Martinez scoring twice after Mattia Zaccagni had opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
According to A Bola, the Red Devils had scouts at the match to keep an eye on developments, with Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic thought to be of interest to the English giants.
The midfielder captained the Italian outfit during the defeat, playing the full 90 minutes, picking up a yellow card in the process.
Milinkovic-Savic has again been in impressive form for Lazio during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring eight goals and registering eight assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old still has more than two years left to run on his current deal, but there has recently been speculation surrounding his future in Rome.
The Serbia international, who has also been linked with a switch to Real Madrid, is believed to be valued by Lazio in the region of €80m (£66.3m).
