Paris Saint-Germain reject "ridiculous" speculation that either Kylian Mbappe or Neymar will be sold next year to help avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions.

Paris Saint-Germain have hit out at French newspaper L'Equipe after it was claimed that the club may be forced to sell one of Kylian Mbappe or Neymar.

The report suggested that PSG would cash in on one of the superstar duo to avoid breaching Financial Fair Play regulations, having been probed by UEFA for a number of months.

A statement has now been released by PSG to deny the "ridiculous" speculation, however, which the Ligue 1 champions believe is part of a wider campaign to disrupt them.

"As well as denying in the strongest way possible these totally false claims that are also ridiculous and that have the sole aim of creating great tension between the club and this newspaper, PSG also ask once more about the intellectual honesty of L'Equipe and the hidden motives of their editorial line with respect to PSG," the statement read.

"There are many examples of an unfair treatment where the objective is to spread a harmful atmosphere. Faced with this orchestrated disinformation from L'Equipe and their tireless attempt to undermine their image, PSG - the most popular and successful club in France - reaffirm a desire to advance and to dialogue only with partners of good faith."

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona have each been linked with Neymar and Mbappe, who are the world's two most expensive players at £198m and £158m respectively.
