Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will reportedly be offered a new four-year contract at the end of the season.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly preparing to offer Wayne Rooney a new four-year contract at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old, who has two years remaining on his current deal, has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.

The speculation gathered pace when the England striker was left out of the Champions League last-16 clash with Real Madrid in March, but recent reports have claimed that Rooney is keen to commit his long-term future to the club.

According to Goal.com, the Premier League champions are putting a financial package together that would see the former Everton forward commit for the next four years.

Rooney has scored 16 goals for United this season.
