Manchester United, Liverpool fail with Alexis Sanchez bids?

A report in Spain says that recent bids from Manchester United and Liverpool for Alexis Sanchez were turned down by Barcelona.

Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool have both reportedly had offers for Alexis Sanchez rejected by Barcelona.

Recent speculation has suggested that the Chilean international had been made available for transfer by the Catalan outfit, with Juventus tipped to secure his services.

However, United and Liverpool have since entered the race for the 25-year-old's signature, but have been rebuffed by their La Liga counterparts, according to Spanish publication Sport.

The report added that French side Paris Saint-Germain had also seen their bid for Sanchez turned down.

Sanchez, who joined Barca from Udinese in 2011, is expected to lead the Chile attack at this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
