Manchester United target Fabinho signs new deal with AS Monaco

AS Monaco announce that Fabinho - who was a reported summer target for Manchester United - has signed a new five-year contract.

AS Monaco have announced that they have handed defender Fabinho a new five-year contract.

During the summer transfer window, the 22-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United, but despite reported interest from the Premier League side, a move did not materialise at the end of August.

Reports suggested that the Brazilian international was likely to remain in Ligue 1 for the foreseeable future, and the club have now confirmed that the full-back has penned a new deal that runs until 2021.

Since making his first appearance for the club in 2013, Fabinho has scored 12 times in 118 games.
