Manchester United are reportedly set to make use of Paul Pogba's one-year extension option, but only to protect the midfielder's value.

Manchester United will reportedly trigger Paul Pogba's one-year contract extension, but only to stop his asking price going below £100m.

The France international has been persistently linked with a move away from Old Trafford recently, and speculation that his career with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is over has been prevalent.

Real Madrid and Juventus are both believed to hold an interest in the midfielder, and according to The Sun, the Red Devils will only make use of the one-year extension in order to protect the 27-year-old's value.

United signed Pogba from Juventus in 2016 for a club-record £89m, and the report also claims that the 20-time English champions have set their asking price at £100m for the World Cup winner.

Pogba has registered 31 goals in 143 appearances for United but has been sidelined with an ankle injury for the majority of this season.
