Aitor Karanka eager for Middlesbrough turnaround

Aitor Karanka challenges his Middlesbrough side to forget about their recent slump in form by defeating Millwall.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has challenged his players to forget about their recent slump in form by beating Millwall tonight.

Boro remain in second place in the Championship table, but they have won just one of their last four games.

Karanka is now hoping that his charges will put a string of disappointing performances to one side and earn a win over the Lions at the Riverside Stadium.

"The message is the same that I say to myself. I will say to my players to go to the game like it's the last game of the season," he told the club's official website.

"We need three points to achieve our objectives and forget the previous games. We have to go on to the pitch and give our best. We need to finish the game against Millwall with no doubts about ourselves because our recent performances haven't been good by our standards."

Boro's last game in the Championship ended in a 2-0 defeat away to Sheffield Wednesday.
