Napoli winger Dries Mertens has said that his side have not given up hope of winning the Serie A title this season.

The Partenopei cut the gap between themselves and leaders Juventus to 10 points with a 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Monday.

"The league? We still have many games to play, we'll see. We do not give up," he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"Objective second place? For us, today's victory was important to shorten the gap on Roma."

Napoli travel to Hellas Verona in Serie A on Sunday.
