Guus Hiddink refuses to be drawn on Netherlands future

Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink declines to comment on his future as manager of the national side following the Oranje's win over Latvia.

Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink has refused to answer questions on his future with the national side.

Hiddink admitted that he would resign from his position if his side lost to Latvia in their Euro 2016 qualifier, but his team cruised to a 6-0 win in the clash.

Following the game, the 68-year-old was asked about his future as his side recorded just their second win under his tenure in six matches, but he refused to be drawn on the subject.

"I was concentrating on the match and we've won it," Hiddink told NOS.

"That's the most important thing right now. I won't react to the question on whether I'll still be Netherlands coach in March 2015. I just don't feel like answering the question.

"We showed that we could deliver a great performance and that's the most important thing right now. I had my doubts about the defence but in attack we were great. I knew that already."

The Netherlands are third in Group A in their qualifying campaign, with six points from their four matches.
